RideTrace, provided through MPCS, uses your information to manage accounts, arrange rides and maintain ride records.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we store your name, email, account type, country and a hashed password. You can also provide a phone number, vehicle details, fare rates and fuel economy. Ride records may include pickup and destination addresses, times, passenger contact details, notes, fares, currency, distance, duration, estimated fuel and payment status. We also store booking, notification and account-security records.
Location and map services
Location access requires your browser’s permission. An online driver’s recent position can be used to estimate distance to pickup. Before acceptance, passengers see the resulting estimate, not the driver’s exact position. Live trip location is shared with the assigned passenger after the driver enables trip sharing. Once enabled, sharing resumes across signed-in driver pages and stays enabled when switching tabs, subject to browser location permission and background GPS restrictions. Stopping sharing or ending the trip removes the live location record. Pickup-estimate positions are removed when the driver goes offline; older positions are ignored for estimates.
Typed address searches are sent to the configured Photon address service. Route coordinates are sent to the configured OSRM routing service. Opening a map requests tiles from OpenStreetMap. These services receive information needed for their requests, such as the search text or coordinates; their own privacy practices also apply. Your browser may send network information such as its IP address when contacting map providers.
If you choose an external navigation link, the selected pickup/destination coordinates or addresses are included in the link sent to Google Maps. Its privacy practices and location permissions apply when you open it.
How information is used and shared
We use account and booking details to provide rides, verification, reminders, notifications, history and security. Selected drivers receive the booking and passenger contact information needed for the trip. Passengers receive their assigned driver’s name, vehicle and enabled live location. Administrators can access account and ride information to operate the service. Activation, reset and reminder emails are delivered through the operator’s configured email provider.
Storage and retention
Account and ride information is stored in the operator’s database. Ride history and notifications remain until removed through available controls or by the operator. Security and delivery records may remain for operational purposes; backups may retain earlier copies. Pickup codes are cleared after use or cancellation. The app uses access controls, password hashing and request verification to protect information.
Your choices
You can update profile details, manage bookings and notifications, and control browser location permission. Drivers can turn availability and live trip sharing off. To ask about access, correction, account deletion or other privacy concerns, contact the site operator through mpcs.ca. Requests may require identity verification and consideration of records the operator needs to retain.
